Moon Boat & Night Sky Glass - a sculpture for the General Services Administration (GSA) - 2002
Moon Boat & Night Sky Glass is a 12’ x 12’ 6" x 4’ glass, steel and rock sculpture.
In 2001, I was awarded the General Services Administration (GSA) Art in Architecture Project to design a work of art in glass for the Ward Parkway Federal Building, 8930 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO.

I love the idea of a glass boat perched on rocks. The idea for the imagery in a Federal building took on different meaning after 9/11. What I wanted was an image of hope and promise.

We’re all in the same boat—we’re in it together. The sliver Moon in the Night Sky promises light.
