My work is based on the potent language of geometry expressed in multifaceted ways with dimensional glass, painting and sculpture and using materials in non-traditional ways. For example, in my large public projects, I use overlays of tinted glass and steel to manipulate light and cast reflections whether it is in the form of skylight, window or freestanding sculpture.

The primary shapes of geometry such as circle, square and triangle are older than time and found in the context of ancient labyrinths and led me to the Fibonacci Sequence. In my labyrinth work I utilize small planes of glass turned on edge to catch and reflect light or I implode the directional flow of a labyrinth to create a dynamic path in search of its center.

I read something that sums up my art making philosophy. When Martin Heidegger asked: "What is a thing?" and responded that " You know what a thing is by the way it gathers the world unto itself," his statement gave me a framework to define what art is. You know what art is by the way it gathers the world unto itself. To this I would add that 'Art is a point of proximity that dissolves the distinction between our "here and there" as it pulls us toward itself and each other.'
