State of the HeartH

State of the HeartH, 2018, 6 mixed media paintings on sheet metal in weathered ladder, 94” x14” 2.5.”

This work is available, contact artist for price.

When I found this weather beaten ladder, I knew immediately what had to be done. I brought it back to my studio and went right to work adding 6 pieces of sheet metal to show industrial scenes of work sites and workers.

This piece honors the people who worked hellish jobs climbing their ladder to the middle class.

I didn’t realize until I finished, that the ladder became a film strip of the mid-20th Century where the worker was fading from the picture. Look closely, the worker has all but disappeared.
