The Lackawanna Steel Company started in 1902 and in 1922 was acquired by Bethlehem Steel Co. and ran until 1982- when it closed and laid off 6,000 workers. It was once the largest steel company in the world. It was located in West Seneca, New York (near Buffalo with easy access on the Great lakes.)
